Master Alfredo Primavera came straight to Hong Kong from Cremona to show us some of his extraordinary Violins and Violas. At dinner he recollected when in 1972 he had opened a small Violin shop in New York and a very poor looking guy came to him to fix a Base that he would be using to play in his “Beat” band. To fix the base it would cost a full month of work, more than 5k usd at the time (something like 50k usd today) but he decided to do it anyway under the promise that he would keep the base if the guy could not pay for the repair. After one month the guy came to pick up the base and wanted to pay with a cheque. At the moment of signing it, Master Primavera saw who was the guy: Charles DuPont Jr! The Master told me tonight: Never judge a book by its cover, Alberto! βΊοΈππΌ#verytroubledchild
