The priceless Lady with the Ermine is one of the only 15 Leonardo paintings which have reached our days. Its story is fantastic: it was bought by a Polish prince in 1800 during his Grand Tour of Italy and subsequently stolen by the Nazi during WWII together with, amongst others, a masterpiece from Raffaello (which has never been recovered). The Lady with the Ermine was found hidden in a salt mine at the end of the war and finally returned to Poland. #verytroubledchild 🇵🇱
