When in Veneto region, we decided to visit Possagno, home of Antonio Canova (1757-1822), the great neoclassical sculptor who was born here. We visited Gipsoteca (gallery of plaster casts) which displays gypsum models, terracotta sketches, and marbles by Canova. The other main building is the artist’s birthplace “casa natale di Antonio Canova” (the house where he was born), which today contains an art gallery. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐ŸŒž #verytroubledchild #possagno #italia #canova

Before heading to the medieval town of Asolo, we stopped to see the Carlo Scarpa monumental Brion Tomb. It is regarded as a masterpiece of modernist architecture and a powerful commemorative monument. Venetian influences such as the gold tiles familiar from Byzantine mosaics and Japanese influences, like Zen Garden – an island adorned with beautiful water lilies with a pavilion dedicated to meditation in the center are evident in the design. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐ŸŒž #verytroubledchild #italia

Back in our wonderful Venice! La Serenissima never disappoints ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น We started our day with cappuccino, a grapefruit juice at Gritti and ended at Harryโ€™s Bar having the most delicious lunch: tagliolini gratinati al prosciutto, fresh artichokes and vegetable salad, vitello tonnato and of course we couldnโ€™t resist ordering la meringata with gelato and crรชpes Suzette! For us thatโ€™s a definition of la dolce vita ๐Ÿ˜ #verytroubledchild #savannabag #venezia #italia
