What a feast for the eyes to admire the “Drago”, the Dracaena Macronensis, a tree which is approx. 2000 years old, first categorized by Linnaeus in 1762 and now has become the symbol of Tenerife! La Caleta is a small fishing village situated on the southwest coast of Tenerife. People who are lucky enough to know about this gem, tend to come here and enjoy the best seafood restaurants on the island or to take a dip into the amazingly clear, turquoise-coloured waters. We explore the north of Tenerife from our base in Garachico: a lovely town port which was founded by the Genoese explorer Cristobal Da Ponte in the late XV century.
